From October 12 to 26, 2022, the exhibition "Synesthesia Scenery" was held at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
This exhibition was realized through a close relationship with Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, spanning more than 15 years. It has also participated in "TRIENNALE MODERNE BERLIN DESSAU WEIMAR".
The venue is the Bauhaus Atelier, a restored first classroom from the early days of Bauhaus. The exhibition "Synesthesia Scenery" was selected as the first exhibition to be held at this location in Bauhaus history.
For more information about the exhibition, the venue, and the opening event held on October 12, please see below.
This is the Bauhaus Atelier, a restored version of the first Bauhaus classroom, which will be used for the first time as an exhibition venue.
It is usually used as a cafeteria where many students gather.
The exhibits hanging in the upper glass part of the building can be seen from the outside as well.
The upper glass space in the Bauhaus Atelier is used as an exhibition space.
The exhibits, consisting of two types of materials, permeable fabric and non-transparent paper, are hung from triangular-shaped aluminum pipes.
Depending on the weather and time of day, the intensity and angle of the light will vary, changing the overlap and appearance of the exhibits.
Visitors can experience "synesthesia" not only between the exhibits, but also with the surrounding environment.
Nine projects in three categories are on display.
To the left from the entrance of the exhibition hall are three projects representing "Traitions and Historical Techniques (National Romanticism)" (1.Xover Products, 2.18 Objects, 3.Red House II),
to the right are three projects of "Blue Infrastructure" (4.Port of Helsinki, South Harbour Project, 5.Reflected "Obake-city", 6.Etajima Project),
and in the center, three projects consisting of "Synesthesia" between the two (7.Water Infra-city, 8.Sechie, 9.Xover House).
From the left side of the exhibition hall to the right side, the exhibition moves from small-scale projects such as components and single products, through small-scale architecture and housing, to larger-scale projects such as ports and cities.
On October 12, 2022, we held an opening event for the exhibition "Synesthesia Scenery".
Many people who have been involved with Bauhaus University Weimar over the past 15 years, as well as professors and students of Bauhaus University, attended the event.
