7月21日、東京建物株式会社で活躍されている鈴木康史先生にお越しいただき、最終講評会を行いました。
全7グループに対して、都市が持つ問題へのリアリティ・実利的な側面からの評価や「本当につくりたいものをつくれているか？」などのデザインプロセスへの言及といった多岐にわたる講評を頂きました。
その後の座談会では、今日において答えを出すことが難しい問題である「Diversity, Majority, Minority」に関して、都市開発におけるリスクヘッジや個人の責任、計画学の観点から多様な時代にどう取り組んでいくべきかなど議論が展開していった他、
先の見えない時代、つまり明確な答えがない時代において、「建築に求められるのは完成度が重要なのではないか。」という指摘や、
「建築を評価していくのは人間である以上、人間が持つ感覚や感情を最終的には建築家が全てのスケールにおいてコントロールしていくことが重要なのではないか。」といった、時代に適応した建築への向き合い方や建築家の職能自体の在り方に対してまで議論が行われました。
高い志、そして自らの軸を持ちながらも地に足をつけてデザインしていくこと、
また多様な時代において、全てを網羅した建築というよりも個々のアイデンティティを受け止めていく建築のあり方など、多くのことを学び・考える2021年度設計演習Gの最後を締め括る良い会となりました。（TA 髙尾）
On July 21, we had a final critique session with Mr. Yasushi Suzuki, who works for Tokyo Tatemono Co.
The teachers gave a wide range of critiques to all seven groups, evaluating them from the perspective of reality and practicality of urban problems, and referring to the design process such as "Are you really creating what you want to create? to the design process.
In the round-table discussion that followed, the topic of "Diversity, Majority, Minority," which should not be answered today alone, was discussed,
including risk hedging in urban development, individual responsibility, and how to tackle diversity from the perspective of planning.
The discussion continued to unfold.
We discussed the importance of perfection in architecture in an age of uncertain future, an age without clear answers.
As it is human beings who will evaluate the architecture, it is important for the architect to control the human senses and emotions at all scales,
and other important suggestions were made on how to deal with architecture and how to appear as an architect.
It was a good meeting to conclude the 2021 Design Studio G.
We will learn and think about many things, such as how to design from the ground up while maintaining high aspirations and our own axes,
and how to create architecture that accepts individual identity rather than all-encompassing architecture in this diverse age. (TA Takao)

アアルト大学とのワークショップ

6月23日17時、コロナ禍で色々な活動が自粛となる中、Zoomを通してアアルト大学とのワークショップを行いました。
アアルト大学でご指導されているPentti Kareoja先生と主にフィンランドで活動をされているデザイナーのEsa Vesmanenさんをお招きし、学生による提案一つ一つに対して丁寧なエスキースをして頂きました。
各グループに対して、コミュニティや建築スケールから家具スケール、さらに素材までスケールを横断したご指摘を頂くことができました。
また普段は気づかされないような国境を越えた広い視点からのご指摘を受け、スタジオ全体としての蓄積をお互いが活用し、相乗効果が生まれる可能性を得るとても良い機会となりました。（TA髙尾）
On June 23, at 5:00 pm (11:00, Finnish time), we held a workshop with Aalto University on Zoom, while many activities were under self-restraint due to Covid-19.
We invited Prof. Pentti Kareoja, who teaches at Aalto University, and Mr. Esa Vesmanen, a designer who works mainly in Finland, and they gave us detailed esquisses for each of the students' proposals.
For each group, we were able to receive points of view across scales, from community and architectural scale to furniture scale and even materials. It was a very good opportunity for us to utilize the accumulated experience of the studio as a whole and to gain the possibility of creating synergy. (TA Takao)

北園先生によるレクチャー

美しい旅の写真と北園先生ご自身の作品のスライドショーを背景に、「生きることと設計」についてご講義をして頂きました。
美しい写真や作品の数々から多くのインスピレーションが湧き出てくる貴重な体験となりました。
また、講義では、見えるところと見えないところの狭間、自分の意識、目的の重要性、さらに自分のものさしを持って生き、その延長上に設計があるべきことを北園先生の体験談と共に考えさせられる良い機会となりました。(TA髙尾)
The lecture on "Living and Design" was accompanied by a slide show of beautiful travel photos and Mr. Kitazono's own works.
It was an invaluable experience, as the beautiful photos and works of architecture brought out a lot of inspiration.
In the lecture, Mr. Kitazono talked about the space between the visible and the invisible, the importance of one's own awareness and purpose, and the need to live with one's own measure of things and design should be an extension of that.(TA Takao)

井深先生ご自身が携わられたプロジェクト、そしてその葛藤を元に、「クライアントと向きあう」「街並みをえがく」「テクノロジー」「未来へのビジョン」など様々なテーマでお話しいただきました。
都市を考えながらも、技術を考え、地球を考え、生命を考え、最終的には人のためになるものをつくるといったような広大なスケールで建築というものを考え直すことができ、大変勉強になりました。（TA髙尾）
Based on the projects he has been involved in and the conflicts he has faced, Mr. Ibuka spoke on a variety of topics including "Facing the Client," "Drawing the Cityscape," "Technology," and "Vision for the Future.
While thinking about cities, we must also think about technology, the earth, life, and ultimately create something that will benefit people. It was a great learning experience for me to reconsider architecture on such a vast scale. (TA Takao)
