Y Houseは、工業化住宅の結晶であるセキスイハウスを、それが今後辿るであろう2つの態度でラッピングするプロジェクトです。
1960年代に大量生産された工業化住宅の多くは、近年、メンテナンスの時代に差し掛かっています。 かつての工業化住宅という理念に対して2つの答えが考えられ、このような工業化住宅の構図を"Y"で表しています。 そのうちの1つは、より工業化を徹底する態度、もう1つは手仕事を大切にし、失われていった生活の振る舞いを取り戻す態度です。

Many of the industrialized houses mass-produced in the 1960s have recently entered an era of maintenance. There are two possible answers to the former idea of industrialized houses, and "Y" stands for the composition of this type of industrialized house. One of them is a more industrialized attitude, the other is an attitude that values handicraft and restores the behavior of life that has been lost.

セキスイハウスの南面・西面に防水性の高いウォータータンクパネルや液体ゴム状コーティング剤を用い、北面・東面には手工芸である煉瓦を用いています。
